It’s hard to find good, decent work-from-home jobs when you don’t know what to look for. However, it is much easier to find a work from home job now than it ever has been due to the pandemic. More business and jobs went online because that was the only way they could operate. The rise of online jobs also helped increase the number of scams that targeted desperate people hoping to find a way to make money.
Today, I’m going to go over some work-from-home jobs that are not Freelancing jobs. The jobs that I will be discussing are not from scam artists, so you don’t have to worry about one of these jobs taking your money. You also don’t have to stress out trying to find these jobs on your own. These are well-known companies that are actively looking for employees to join their teams.
*Tip: Type “work from home jobs” in Google and see where it takes you.
Amazon
As we all know very well, Amazon has become one of the largest companies in the world. With over 185 centers globally Amazon has not only been creating more in-person jobs but also has created more at-home jobs.
The job website for Amazon is amazon.jobs and you can browse through all of the available jobs. Most jobs that are work from home jobs have the tag “Work From Home” assigned to those jobs. You can also sort through their work from home jobs with the category at the bottom left of the page “Work From Home”.
Ensure that you pay special attention to the requirements and qualifications for the job you are applying for. Some jobs require you to have a certain number of years of experience or knowledge of specific programs. There is no need to lie about your qualifications and then bomb on the job when you start.
Amazon has plenty of different jobs available for people with various skill sets. The most common entry-level position for work from home with Amazon is a customer service position. If you have 3-5 years of experience in customer service already, you may be able to land a higher-paying job that is not entry-level.
Sitel
Sitel is a reasonably well-known call center that businesses can utilize to outsource their calls and lighten the load on some of their employees. They have a physical location in Florida, but most of their jobs are remote and work from home jobs. It might be a little more challenging to get hired with this company if you don’t have previous call center experience, but they might have some entry-level positions available.
This company works with some of the largest, growing companies in the world. I have worked with similar companies that have taken outsourced calls for one of their clients/projects. There is only one downside to this type of work, and that is you never know when it’s going to end. The client may pull the plug on their project at any time. Still, most companies like this will try and place you in another project if they have the availability.
You can go directly to Sitel by visiting this link or type “work from home jobs Sitel” into Google search.
Lionbridge
This company has been around since 1996, but they are becoming increasingly more popular every day. If you don’t want to spend hours talking on the phone every day, you may consider working for Lionbridge. They have different jobs available that do not require you to talk on the phone. Some of their jobs list a social media assessor or online ad evaluator.
These types of jobs are relatively tedious (I’ve done this type of work in the past for other companies) as you are doing the same repetitive task over and over. You rate what you see or experience on a scale specified by the company you are completing the work for. Still, Lionbridge has decent employee reviews on Glassdoor compared to other companies. It looks like some employees feel like there isn’t always work available and you cannot work more than 20 hours per week. That may be the case for some of their jobs, but probably not all of them.
Note that they do also have some other jobs available in other countries like game testing and such. Feel free to browse all of these categories in case you might find something that is a good fit for you. Pay special attention to the payment process. I’m not sure if all of their jobs are freelancing, but I know some of them specifically state that they are for freelancers, NOT employees.
You can browse jobs for Lionbridge by visiting this link. You can also watch a catchy little video about what they do here.
Note: If you land a job with Lionbridge, think about also doing work for Appen. If you work with both companies, you may be able to get full-time hours or even more.
Apple
One of the most popular companies in the world, it is no surprise that Apple has available work from home jobs all over the globe. With offices spanning over 25 different countries and regions, Apple always has an available position for another employee.
There are two entry-level work-from-home positions available (that I know of) and they have several other work from home jobs available for more experienced candidates. The most popular work-from-home job is called an “Apple At Home Advisor”.
Believe it or not, Apple has had this work-from-home job available for quite a while now. I knew some friends that went over to Apple back in 2014 when the project we were working on together shut down. However, there were not as many of these jobs available then as there are now.
Apple also has some data entry jobs available, and these jobs specifically state that they are remote work from home jobs. These types of jobs are usually tough to get because they go pretty quickly. If you are looking for a data entry job, you have to apply for those jobs as soon as you see them. Be careful if you are applying for a job that is not on the company website.
Some of these jobs you will only find on places like Indeed, but some other less well-known websites will try to get your personal information. It is always better to go to the actual company website for that potential employer.
If you want to apply with Apple to work from home, then you can visit their website for work-at-home jobs by clicking here.
There are several more work-from-home jobs available online; you just need to make sure you research the company first to make sure they are legitimate. It’s always better to go with more well-known resources and brands. If you don’t know anything about the company, you can still do a Google search.
